Volodymyr Palagniuk began his community activism in Ukraine where he was a student rights activist and community leader throughout his high school and university years, serving as the Student President of Ukraine, and playing a pivotal role in coordinating the Chernivtsi Euromaidan.

In Canada, Mr. Palagniuk founded the Vyshyvanka Association, which consolidated local initiatives and established a national Vyshyvanka Day, celebrated in all of Canada's provinces and territories. As Chair of the Vyshyvanka Committee of the UCC, he is deeply committed to promoting Ukrainian culture and raising awareness about Ukraine at all levels of government. Advocating for the Ukrainian community on Parliament Hill, he has organized Ukraine-oriented initiatives, including a project that pairs Canadian cities with municipalities in Ukraine, resulting in five successful twinning agreements and counting.
