With a deeply rooted commitment to volunteerism, Yurko (George) Serhijczuk has been actively involved in various Ukrainian Canadian community and church organizations for more than 40 years, holding a variety of positions in these organizations. This includes the Ukrainian National Youth Federation at both the national and branch levels, the St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Toronto) Executive, the Ukrainian National Federation-West Toronto Branch, the National Board of the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada, and also the Ukrainian War Veterans Association of Canada, where he has been Secretary for the past 9 years.

As the UNF-West Toronto representative to the Board of UCC-Toronto, Mr. Serhijczuk chaired the Remembrance Day Committee for a decade and served as Master of Ceremonies at this annual event.
