About the Award

Created in 1993 on the 50th anniversary of the UCC Ontario Provincial Council, the Trillium Award is presented every two years to youth and adults whose extraordinary volunteer contributions shape the Ukrainian-Canadian community.

Award Types

Two streams — one for adults, one for youth — each with its own categories and criteria.

  • Adult Award

    Recognizes adults whose leadership, dedication, and volunteer service have made a lasting, positive impact on the Ukrainian-Canadian community.

    1–9 Awardees per cycle
    3 Categories

    Eligibility Must be an adult

  • Youth Award

    Celebrates youth who demonstrate outstanding volunteer achievements, leadership, and dedication, inspiring others.

    3–5 Awardees per cycle
    1 Category

    Eligibility Youth age 16–25

How to Nominate

Four simple steps to put forward a volunteer whose contributions deserve recognition.

  1. Verify Nominee Eligibility

    Verify that the nominee is an active member of an organization that is in good standing with UCC–OPC and effectively dedicates their time to volunteer efforts throughout the province of Ontario.

  2. Compile the Application Package

    Gather the following documents to create a comprehensive application package:

    • Completed Nomination Form (online)
    • A current biography or resume of the nominee
    • Two letters of support from relevant parties
  3. Submit the Nomination Form

    Once all materials are prepared and approved, submit the Nomination Form and accompanying information through the UCC-OPC website.

  4. Acknowledgement of Receipt

    UCC–OPC will send electronic confirmation of receipt to both the nominating organization and the nominee, ensuring that all parties are informed of the status of the nomination.
