Тамара Дудка

Tamara Dudka has been volunteering in the Hamilton community for over 40 years. She began as leader of a junior group in PLAST, receiving the St. George Bronze Medal for her service. She also volunteered with the Junior Chaika Dance Group, the Ukrainian Women's Association-Lesia Ukrainka Branch, and at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Cathedral where she is a parishioner to this day.

For the last 32 years, Mrs. Dudka has been the President of the Hamilton Branch of Ukrainian Canadian Social Services. Under her leadership many projects were initiated that impacted both the local community and Ukrainians abroad. She spearheaded a project that provided needed surgeries for children from Ukraine free of charge, set up scholarships, sent financial aid to Pediatric Institutes in Kyiv and Luhansk, as well as parcels with medicine, clothing and toys for Ukrainian orphans for the Feast of St. Nicholas. Mrs. Dudka organizes annual "Soup Kitchen" fundraisers to support the needs of Hamilton's Ukrainian community and for Ukraine. She currently ensures that all recently-arrived refugees from Ukraine receive the assistance they need.
